Green People Shampoo
by bethancole
During 16 years of writing about beauty, I’ve tried quite a lot of shampoos and conditioners. Its sad but true to say that I’ve never been very impressed with the environmentally friendly and organic ones – although John Masters haircare is one exception to this, Aveda is another. Instead, given the choice I’ve tended to use brands like Kerastase – hi tech but – let’s face it – more synthetic than natural. Then I discovered Green People. At £11.95 their Intensive Repair Shampoo is not cheap but it really works on colour treated (subtle highlights) hair such as mine. The Conditioner is good too. Crucially the formulations are palm oil free, so, unlike a lot of mainstream haircare out there, these products are not contributing to the destruction of the rainforest and the Orang-utans habitat. They are also SLS and Paraben-free.
Appealing. What does it smell like?
It’s a very subtle Orange Blossom scent Neil – made from essential oil. I don’t like strongly scented hair products, they can interfere if you’re wearing a nice perfume.
